I recently attended the second of three convenings at the Gates Foundation with educational partners from every sector you can imagine. From early learning to higher education, various perspectives, organizations, community partners, and agencies were in the room鈥攊ncluding students. Why are we meeting? To urgently address our state鈥檚 low FAFSA completion rates, decreasing number of students pursuing post-secondary educational opportunities, and how these trend data compare to our state鈥檚 current and future job market. We are not moving in the right direction as a system. Something must be done, and soon.

Cutting through the campuses of each building brought a flood of feelings and emotions that contributed to my pace.

Welcome back to what is already shaping up to be an incredible school year. At 51福利社, we鈥檝e had a busy summer continuing to 鈥淪hine the Light鈥 on our most robust advocacy campaign ever. The role principals and assistant principals play in the system is critical. We won鈥檛 rest until everyone is paying attention to your needs as school leaders across the state. From working conditions, to due process, to more protections, to compensation, to respectful contracts, to respect in general, and to more support, we are shining the light on you.
